pistachio chorizo cake with sesame seeds on top

Today was Cookbook Club, our focus was any recipe from David Lebovitz‘s books or website. We had a perfect mix (short ribs, celery root soup, artichoke tapenade, and a spread of desserts) and everything was superb. I made the Pistachio and Chorizo Cake which was easy and looks really impressive when you cut into it. Turns out the recipe is from another Paris food blogger, Clotilde Dusoulier who does Chocolate & Zucchini, it’s in her book also titled Chocolate & Zucchini: Daily Adventures in a Parisian Kitchen (disclosure: that’s an Amazon Affiliate link). Right, I’m off to watch the Oscars.

Thanks Megan, for reminding me of the neglected savory cake. Task at hand — scoring chorizo in Japan.

That looks yummy and like the perfect thing to bring to a potluck. I look forward to trying it myself sometime. Also, jealous that you have a cookbook club!

I love David Lebovitz’s food! Last year I made the bacon ice cream from his web site and thankfully had both my husband and my inlaws visiting to test it. The base looked like it would be perfect for apple pie ice cream, so I will have to make it again this summer!

Megan, this cake was GREAT. I found myself thinking about it at bedtime, wishing I’d saved a slice for a late-night snack! YUM.
