I have thoroughly annoyed myself with how long it took me to get the zipper into this. I finished the actual (re) knitting back in mid-February but couldn’t seem to find the energy for the amount of focus it takes to put the zipper in. Happily I managed to get it last weekend and it’s FINALLY OVER.
Here is what it looked like the first time I finished it. Looks exactly the same no? but the length, sleeves and collar are longer and I’m far more likely to wear it. The armholes are annoyingly tight but I’m pretending like that doesn’t bother me.
One last shot of the fabulous charm from Glamscience’s Etsy shop.
Next I’m making the famous Central Park Hoodie in the should-be-famous Dark Horse Fantasy yarn in Charcoal. The yarn is Keep A Ball At My Desk So I Can Stroke It soft.
I’ve also procured size 3 circulars and ordered some Rowan 4 Ply Cotton in Shale from Yarnmarket (couldn’t find it locally) so I can have the Lace Ribbon Scarf as my something-small second project.
The Rowan 4 Ply Cotton I’ve ordered is a medium gray. Apparently I’m into knitting in grayscale.

Congrats! I love the orange zipper. I need to work up the energy to frog mine. Maybe this weekend so I can reward myself with the cake I plan to bake.

Huzzah for it finally being done! I do like the contrast of the zipper with the sweater. And I appreciate the grey kick, I love grey :)

Congrats on finishing! The orange zipper is fantastic – takes it from something nice and serviceable to something fun!

Thank everybody! I hope to get a picture of me wearing it but the weather, camera and mirrors aren’t cooperating.

Yay! Are you sure it’s really over? You won’t get OC about the armholes? ; )

TPS – Yes, because I’ve started the next sweater and I’m actively practicing the zen of JKTI (Just Knit Through It). So far so good.

This is gorgeous! I spent a weekend with my mother a couple years ago, and she taught me the basics of knitting; I never really “got it”, I think ;) This makes me want to practice some more…maybe by next winter, I’ll be good enough to knit something like this =]

This sweater looks purchased, it looks so good. Your finishing skills are excellent!

Thanks Carolyn! I’ve been working on the finishing skills in particular. Since I don’t knit with wool I cannot fix as many problems with blocking so I think it’s extra important for me, especially when it comes to button bands and bind offs.
