You can find hoops here:
https://www.rings-things.com/cgi-bin/hazel/hazel.cgi?action=search&SEARCH_KEY_TERMS=42-211&SUBMIT_ACTION_SEARCH.x=19&SUBMIT_ACTION_SEARCH.y=15

AND on e-Bay.

They're not as cheap as the $9/100 as stated here, but not bad prices.

Does anyone know where I can find discount/bulk pewter charms to put on my wine markers? I have looked all over and haven't been able to find pewter grapes at a decent price. I need to make about 100 of these wine markers for a friends wedding and she doesn't have the budget to spend too much on them. Any suggestions?

These were so easy and a blast to make. I made my charms with a few more beads on each one and I also included pewter grape charms to dress them up even a little more. Later I tried with some base metal silver colored charms in other shapes, ie. wine glass, wine bottle, wine goblets, more grapes, etc. All worked well. I put the charms in little metal tins and make stickers for the top of the tin that says, "Charming Vintage". I put each tin into a draw string pouch with shiney silver stars on it. These will be great stocking stuffers!

Just another thought for wine glass charms. I made these for my brother's wedding, all 250+ of them, but I used memory wire, cut about 3 inches of it and curl the end into a small circle to act as a stop for the beads and then thread on normal small beads until there is about 1/4" left on the wire(i bought my beads at wal-mart and a specialty beads store). After all the beads are on, crimp the other end of the wire to keep the beads from falling off either way. Now you're left with a straight stick of beads, so what I did, was wrap it around my finger to make it into a spiral and now it can easily thread around the base of the wine glass. With the loops on either end also, it is very easy to attach some sort of charm to it for an added embellishment. I wish I had pictures of it, but I can't seem to find any of them.

[...] Wine Glass Charms I think I found myself a new DIY project. I wanted to give our guests who choose to go on the wine tour a little favor, but something simple and reusable. I wish I could afford personalized wine glasses, but that's not realistic. So I thought Wine glass charms would be cool. I found this instruction site to make my own, and since I cannot find exactly what I want I think this is my best option. not martha to make : ridiculously easy wine glass charms I decided to make sets of 12 charms each, so I got 12 different colors I bought 6mm druk beads (simple Czech glass) - I originally wanted 8mm but those did not fit over the rounded wire I bought base metal (as opposed to sterling silver) 1" hoops that are actually earring findings - they also carried 3/4" which probably would have worked out even better, but may have created more problems getting the bead on detail of the ends, one is flattened and has a hole punched in it creating it's own clasp later STEP ONE: put the bead on STEP TWO: grab the regular end with some pliers (needle nose would work best if you have them) - just 1/4" or less. I found holding the hoop right where I was going to bend it worked best STEP THREE: bend upwards STEP FOUR: admire your work. Slip the flattened end with the hole over the bent end to secure. [IMG]http://www.notmartha.org/images/tomake/winecharms/finished1.jpg detail of closed charm If it doesn't want to hold, gently pull the hoop open so that it will have some tension when closed. ta da! I packaged some in those glass topped favor containers which are so trendy these days. These simple wine charms are so easy to make it's silly. All I ended buying were the hoops and the beads themselves. I bought my hoops at JewelrySupply.com - base metal silver, 100 for $9. The beads I bought at General Bead here in San Francisco. They came in units of 25 for $1.50 to $3.00 per unit. I also found the hoops at General Bead. If you want you can get more complex and start adding charms attached with little jump rings. __________________ Happy Planning!!!
