This is my favorite scarf so far (I say that with each new one). I made this to be long and thin, it is about 86″ long, long enough to wrap around my neck twice and still tie in front. The yarn, GGH Esprit, is yet another fuzzy synthetic, it has been holding up quite well.

stats:

yarn
Esprit by GGH
on label:
100% polyamid (nylon)
50 grams
suggested needle size 6 – 8

needles
Clover Bamboo
size 8 US (5 mm)
9″ length

final pattern I used

  • size 8 US needles
  • two balls Esprit in different colors
  • cast on 17 stitches (or uneven number to width desired)
  • knit all stitches, all rows
  • change color every ten rows (color overlap should show only on back of scarf, see wrong side deatil picture)
  • leave a little tail or slack (see picture) to weave into the scarf later on
  • knit until long, end with whichever color you’d like
  • clip and weave in all ends (they hide themselves surprisingly well
