I actually tried that pickle soup recipe last night! The flavor’s very close to Polish Home, but was way too thick and gluey. Next time I would cut out the flour/sour cream mixture, and just mash the potatoes a bit after they’ve cooked. Then stir in a little cream at the end.

My people use matzoh at Passover to make what you call “Christmas Crack” — and it’s delicious as well as fitting into dietary restrictions.
