I had a utility knife accident where I cut through my thumbnail at an angle. I didn’t try nail glue because I was being a cheapskate and sticking to things I already had on hand. I cut open teabags. At first, I tried an acrylic resin I use at work, and although it was undetectable once I buffed it, it was too rigid and lifted off after a day. Next, I tried clear nail polish which was really bad at properly impregnating the teabag and I had tons of tiny bubbles appear as it set. I covered it with glitter polish :P last I tried crazy glue, which worked the best, and I wished I’d tried it sooner. I probably should have just bought some nail glue, though.

Jen – I’ve done that exact thing! A musician once told me that when banjo players split a nail they will cut a piece of ping pong ball to the shape of a nail and superglue it over their entire nail bed. A bit extreme but apparently it works.

There used to be a kids’ show called The Great Space Coaster that showed a few short cartoons, that “La Linea” guy was one of the cartoons shown on it. There was also one with bugs that I later on learned used snippets of Katchaturian’s music in it.

I think it was a syndicated show, it ran on one of the “indie” stations in the place where my family lived (near enough Cleveland, OH, to get their tv stations)
