Whimseybox – Jewelry Tools Starter Set. I don’t make jewelry but I do need to swap out earring hooks on inexpensive jewelry and keep a set of tools around. These look especially nice, especially the jump ring opener!
Spring Cleaning – The Crafts Dept. Great list of places to take all those old craft supplies so that they will find a new home.
Grocery Bag Basket | Pintester. She includes some good clarification of the directions, and I wanna make this now.
The Perfect Gift: Gold Leaf Plaster Votives. These are gorgeous, and easier than you might thing. The post includes full directions.

hey megan,
have you been to fusion beads on stone way (close to the troll)? best place ever for findings and all one’s jewelry repairing/swapping needs.

Do you imagine yourself diving into all the swarovski crystals a la Scrooge McDuck at the beginning of the cartoon Ducktales?

lately my ears have been getting irritated when i wear my cheap earrings. what kind of metal do you replace yours with and do you know of a place online where i can buy some?

Katie – Right now I swap out dangle earrings, I don’t know if it’s possible to swap out posts though I have heard of people coating posts with clear nail polish. I use sterling silver or gold-fill (which oddly means the surface is coated in gold. I bought two very inexpensive tools – a tiny needle nose plier and a tool that looks like needle nose but with two round graspers (made so you can curl jump rings). With those two it’s very simple to open a ring long enough to put in the new hooks. So now I can shop for inexpensive earrings as long as they are dangles.

The jump ring opener is the handiest tool. Thanks for sharing Megan!
