I have joined Instagram. My assimilation has been completed.

Bicycle-delivered pie ala mode popsicle with pie crumbs, from Six Strawberries who biked in to serve guests at a wedding at Gasworks Park. It was perfect.

turtle carved out of a watermelon
Turtle fruit salad, at the same wedding mentioned above. (There was also a serendipitous Blue Angels fly over, knights fighting for the bride, rice krispies cake and beautiful paper bouquets. It was pretty darn great.)

It was carved by the aunt of the bride I believe, and she was saying that the bride’s mom also had a watermelon turtle at her wedding. It was so sweet!

Help me out- what is instagram for? Other than another way to share photos? I feel old and cranky, but I really do not get it.

Kat – You are not old and cranky at all. There are three things that I find attractive. #1, from the Instagram app I can publish to Twitter, Flickr and Facebook all at the same time. #2 I do not take good photos so the (optional) presets in Instagram to saturate or brighten or fuzz the photos at least makes them more interesting. #3 There is already a community of users and viewers in Instagram.

That said, I don’t like that Instagram isn’t very accessible in a browser and I don’t like that unless I send the photos to another service (Flickr) they can only be found again on my iphone.
