Yes to not your mama’s coleslaw!!
It, plus SK’s rosanne cash’s potato salad, was a HUGE hit at our friends’ barbeques last year and has made me the official side dish provider of our barbeques this year. (Seriously; I brought brownies once and there was pouting.)

Alyssa – Thanks for the tip! I have liked everything I’ve made from her site and cannot wait for the cookbook.

I crave cole slaw. I make a peanut slaw from David Leibovitz’s book often. Also, love those popsicle sticks – Pigeon Toe seems to hit it out of the park every time!

Oh, this is perfect timing — I just massacred a mess of kale last weekend and was looking for a new recipe to use before I tried cooking it again this evening… Can’t wait to check out that link!

Also: If you’re cooking for non-mayo lovers (bless their hearts), SK also has a link to green onion slaw, which is delicious — only a tiny bit of mayo to hold the dressing together, and it goes great with pulled pork or brisket tacos:

    And finally: cheese straws forever.
