My FAV dark pink is Compassion by Mary Kay. It's a deep, bold pink. It's even almost tinting towards red... And, super moisturizing! LOVE IT (plus the profits from it go to womens shelters... even better.... good coming from my love of lipstick!)

So this is a much delayed response, but I love your blog, and (as I was looking over the comments here) I didn't see my FAVORITE bright pink lip color on here. I got it at Sephora, but it's from Tarte. The shade I have is "amused [bright pink." It goes on like a smooth lip balm, totally sans goo or that "my face has just been shellac-ed" feeling. There's just enough of a blue undertone that your teeth will look whiter. And who doesn't want her teeth to sparkle a lil more? I also love that you can REALLY control the intensity of the tint.

Godspeed in your search! Have you found anything yet?

most of mac's lipsticks are very good. you must just experiment with the finish. one and i cannot remember the finish is ultra creamy but does not last on me. no one can beat mac's colors.

I would recommend Besame lipstick! i came across the company on accident, but LOVE it. I have MAC, Chanel, Nars, and more, but I must say , for staying power and lip treatment I LOVE Besame! My fav color from them is Velvet Red - just the right kind ( although I was not sure of it when I looked at the package , but it takes a completely different color on the lips) . Next best would be Julie Hewett - stays well , colors are beautiful. Highly recommend! (my blog has actually the entry about all of them, and where to buy as well as the pic of Besame red velvet on me :))

I second the Burt's Bees lip tints and also want to add Clinique's Rasberry Glace to the list, it's a bright, but not too bright pink. I like to layer it over A Different Grape, to get the perfect color/simmer.

I like MAC's Lustre line of lipsticks. It feels like a lip gloss, but that also means it doesn't have much staying power. I have Sophisto, which is more pinky, and Spice It Up, which is more red. Good luck!

I hate lipstick, gloss etc. Such a pain in the rear. I might try bitten.

In the meantime, I've heard that women of a certain age (me-40 something) should use cream based blush. Voila, those old lipsticks get a new life as cream blush.

Ask Carmindy from what not to wear. Works like a charm.

Megan! While I love DiorKiss, it's really not that bright. If you are looking for a bright, yet super flattering AND inexpensive, look no further than CoverGirl Eternal #350. I love it, and it was only 6 buckeroos!

Hi Megan!

My all time favorite bright pink lipstick is Nars Schiap. It has a semi matte finish, amazing staying power, it's kinda blue based and every single time I wear it I get compliments!

It is not cheap, USD 24 I guess but it is totally worth it. Stop by your nearest Sephora (or any other) and try it.

There is another pink I love which is Girl About Town from MAC (amazing color, confortable wear - not matte and cheaper than NARS!)

One last suggestion: Go to Temptalia.com and check her Swatch Gallery. Thousands of swatches! You gotta find your perfect pink there!

Lots of love from Brazil!

If a lipstick is too drying, suggest you use a base of petroleum jelly. Then bung on (technical term) the lipstick. Cheap and easy.

I just bought Wet N' Wild's newest lipsticks for $.99 each at Walgreens and I have been very impressed with how rich the formula is. There is a rose color and a bright pink I wear. The nude colors not so much, but that's because I don't like beige lips on me.

i love love mac's ruby woo and then i pair it with mac's creme sheen supreme New Temptation. I wear it like this so that it'll last longer ( I teach and eat up my lipsticks), but you can totally wear New Temptation alone and its very moisturizing with great color!

I love http://www.maybelline.es/PRODUCTS/Lips/LIPSTICK/Superstay_24_Hours.aspx

If you apply it properly it's true it will stay for 24 hours.

And the sensation it isn't dry at all.

I agree with ClosetBeauty- Cover Girl Outlast 2 step is my go to lipstick. It stays on sometimes through eating lunch! My go to shade is 626-Canyon which isn't pink -I tend to go to neutrals for me- this goes more to a coral-brown. but I have tried some pinks and like them, too. but, can't offer a color option just recommend the staying power. The top gloss isn't like gloppy lip gloss either.

I have a cover girl natureluxe gloss balm in Hibiscus that is a nice bright (but sheer) pink and fairly moisturizing (one complaint, I think it migrates to the corners of my mouth; I keep meaning to find a pencil to try with it). Another recommendation I've read about is NYX Chloe (as a dupe for Nars Funny Face) - but I haven't tried it yet as I kept forgetting the color name while at the store.

i am the self proclaimed "lipstickician". i could go on and on about very expensive pinks, but since we are in a recession, i will go with a drugstore pick. here it is...L'oreal colour riche in "sea fleur" or #630. i want to say its sort of magenta and shocking in the tube. but on the lips...perfection. women have stopped me in on the street to ask me what it is. and so so so creamy. go get it. now.

Origins has a great moisturizing line that really does the trick. I wear their "Flower Fusion" POPPY color on the regular.

Laura Mercier stickgloss lipstick -- LOVE it! Cranberry or Fuschia? (I'm hooked on Black Orchid and Maple and Plum, too) The best glossy, moisturizing formula that smells yummy (but not too much) I love this stuff. So much.

On the cheaper end of the spectrum, I can't get enough of Revlon's Love That Pink lately. It's just a nice bright pink that works with a lot of different complexions. I tend to go for bright reds and I feel like this is a pink lipstick for red lipstick lovers. Definitely not drying, it's actually pretty creamy. Plus it's super cheap!

Personally, I love the "L'Paige" brand of lipsticks. They moisturize and work with the natural PH of the wearer's skin, so the range of colors offered by the various lipsticks are different once applied. The last time I stocked up there were two general color families: pink-ish and coral-ish. Here's the link: http://www.lpaige.com/

Nthing Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - choose a pink. I went with it based on recommendations from Makeup Alley.

It has a moisturizing texture like a chapstick, but a healthy dose of colour.

For moisturizing color I love the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer sticks. Currently I wear Fig, but it is not the brightest pink around, just a hint of color. I also find the clinique lipsticks to be fairly moisturizing.

I bought it a few years back (um, 2005), so I don't know if it's still around, but their lipsticks in general are nice.

I've never tried that specific MAC Pink lipstick (I tend to like red colours), but I do know that the MAC Ruby Woo is really drying too. I've since switch over to the Buxom lipsticks by Bare Essentuals. I use Tokyo, which is a dark red, but I do know that they have pink colours too. They last a really long time (even when eating and drinking and kissing!) and they're pretty moisturizing.

Seconding Revlon’s Just Bitten in Desire. I've decided recently that stains are the only realistic options for me.

in the super cheap category, Cover Girl Lip Perfection, I have the bright hot pink, its feels super moisturizing, it lasts all day long and the color is vibrant, can't get much better for 6 bucks!

The "Amplified" formula by MAC is my fave - moisturizing AND long-lasting. I love the shade Craving but it's not super bright. I agree with Georgiana's comment about Party Parrot (and maybe Pink Pigeon) - that looks oh-so juicy (don't know what formula it is) and since it's sold out online, I may head to Southcenter to see if they have Scarlet Ibis from the same Iris Apfel line

On Anna @ Door Sixteen's recommendation, I bought Chinatown by Poppy King sheer gloss pencil in "Chase". It isn't opaque, but I love the shade, the big fat pencil, and the fact that it comes with its own fat sharpener. I could only find it only at Barney's, though

I have been digging my new Nars (Damage), but I have an older laura mercer (berry) gloss stick that is still a fav. It goes on like lipstick, but feels like glass.

The cremesheen isn't one of their best formulas. Stick with MAC and try Girl About Town for a super bright pink. Also pay an extra $15 for the MAC Prep and Prime Lip. It works beautifully with the lipstick.

I am a diehard fan of Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss. I do like using lipsticks, but I also find many of them drying. I generally try to avoid using most lip glosses because I hate the sticky feeling they leave behind, and I feel like my hair always gets caught in the lip gloss, which makes for a messy frustrating experience. This stuff is NOT as sticky or shiny as your traditional lip gloss, and it's pretty long lasting and moisturizing. I like to think of it as a liquid lipstick. My favorite color is fame, which is a kind of bright pink without being super super bright. I LOVE it!

The other lip gloss I used to use all the time is Clinique Long Lasting Glosswear. Nice moisturizing formula without being sticky or gloppy.

Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks are pricey, but they feel wonderful. The Rouge Automatiques are supposed to be very good as well.

For cheaper brands, I really like Maybelline's Color Sensational Line.

Oy ve, real, honest to God lipstick does not work with my lifestyle. I either use those Cover Girl outlast sponge on things with a lip balm that I reapply maybe 3 or 4 times a day for busy/professional/serious days, or I use coloured lip balm/lip gloss like this bath and body works on that no longer seems to be available in stores, but it a balm so it moisturizes well (http://www.amazon.com/C-Bigelow-Vitamin-Poppy-Pink/dp/B0042UMVFQ) or Alba TerraGloss, which is nice and natural (http://www.amazon.com/Alba-Botanica-TerraGloss-Mineral-0-42-Ounce/dp/B001GIOVAU/ref=sr_1_2?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1326474655&sr=1-2). I have no real lipstick in a tube suggestions. But I do love the CG outlast. In fact, when I recommended it to a friend, she loved it so much she wore in on her wedding day. Didn't wear off all day!

Revlon has a new lipstick called ColorBurst Lip Butter- which is different from their regular Color Burst line-- it has a pink cap on the stick. It's great at moisturizing, but I found the shade I picked out too light for what I thought it was going to be. You might look it up on Drugstore.com.

Lipstick is fun! Estée Lauder all-day lipstick in rosa rosa is a nice pink. It is long lasting and doesn't dry out my lips. Clinique has some beautiful pinks but I find their lipsticks too drying and they require constant touch ups. Nars is my new favorite brand but I don't have it in pink. Vincent Longo lipstick is also moisturizing.

I am hooked on Revlon's Just Bitten lip stain + gloss. Desire is a really pretty pink. The stain lasts a long time and the gloss keeps the moisture in.
After using the stains, rather than traditional thick on the lips feeling lipstick, I doubt I will go back.

The rec I read recently was also for MAC, though a different shade: http://www.girlsgonechild.net/2011/12/thing-of-week-hot-pink-lipstick.html

Would it work with a light gloss over it or a moisturizing base?

If you want to splurge on a lipstick, I love the YSL one you can get at Sephora (gold lipstick case) ROUGE VOLUPTE Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15. This stuff is so moisturizing, and the color payoff is tremendous. I drink water all day, and I find I can go many hours without it wearing off. A cool way to utilize this lipstick (since it's uber expensive) is to find a shade of pink that compliments your skin and also use it as a little bit if blush. That's how I use mine, and it's fantastic! Hope this helps!

I swear by the Revlon ColorStay Overtime lip color. I LOVE it. It stays on until you eat something greasy, or actually take it off. But also, my lips stay soft. There's a gloss you can put over it once it's set, and repeatedly put the gloss on, but I rarely need to do that. I think my favorite pink color is lasting peony. I also like the raspberry, for something darker. For my every day, I wear endless spice or bare maximum. They're great. I love them. You should too.

Oh, also, it's possibly sold out, but check your nearest MAC store for the limited edition Party Parrot lipstick. It's amazing!

I love YSL Rouge Pur lipstick in 19. It's quite a blue pink + definitely packs a punch, but is one of the best pinks I've ever used (and this girl has used a LOT).
