I buy macs, despite the premium, but my macbook pro just died and fcpx may signal the end of needing a mac to edit video. Should I not buy a mac? | Ask MetaFilter. Our house has been primarily PC but recently Scott bought a Macbook for the video editing that came with it. I’ll be interested to see if that changes. Right now we’re happy being a mixed house.

I used the Nordstrom POS system when I bought a scarf during Anniversary Sale! It was very cool — the receipt was sent to me, the sales woman added me to their email list and they were able to customize it through my phone number.

I especially loved that I didn’t have to look for a register; the sales woman just pulled it from her pocket and sent me on my way — didn’t even need a shopping bag!

OOh, that sounds lovely. I hope they bring it to the cosmetics, that point where I’m sort of hovering at that end desk waiting for the cc to run is awkward.

you actually don’t have to own an iPad to play Machinarium, there’s the original game for computer and you can even play the demo online for free at http://machinarium.net/demo/
I actually have a Machinarium review on my website if you’re intrested. It’s a great game, one of my favorites.
