Seeking Sweetness in Everyday Life – CakeSpy – Cakewalk: Two Sweet Shops in Ireland.

Alcatraz Night Tour and Gardens at GirlHacker’s Random Log. When we lived in San Francisco we took the night tour and I really loved the extra creep factor. Also, when you emerge from prison itself the whole city is lit up before you.

What should I see/eat/do in New York City this week? | Ask MetaFilter. I’ve got an NYC trip coming up and a lot has changed since I was there last. Lots to see!

Thanks for re-linking Jessie’s post about the sweet shops in Ireland. I got a nice little pop from that, and I’m always thankful to have more readers drift over!

I think I’d be too afraid of the Alcatraz night tours — haunted prisons are a bit too high on the creepy scale for a nighttime travel tour.

Don’t miss going to Russ & Daughters when in you’re in NYC! Best bagel and lox hands down. http://russanddaughters.com/ Also a great selection of halvah and other assorted deliciousness.

I’m a long time stalker, first time commenter. I live in NYC, and you got tons of good suggestions from Metafinder. If you make your way uptown to Riverside Park, I always enjoy a beer at sunset on the Hudson. A few places along the river for that above 61st street.

If you are in NYC this weekend, there’s the NYC triathlon going on. Always fun to watch! Swimming in the Hudson, biking the West Side Hwy, running across 72nd street and finishing up in Central Park.

    Have fun!

TS – It’s not too bad! There are lights and lots of other tourists in the prison, promise.

    Sprizee – Yay, thanks!

Regina – Thank you, beer tourism is part of our plan so that sounds perfect. I’m not there this weekend but the triathlon sounds like fun, at least to watch while seated at a sidewalk cafe drinking beer.
