Today I’m happy to have a selection of goods from Schmancy, a tiny but super awesome shop here in Seattle (which you should visit if you are anywhere nearby). Schmancy is owned and run by Kristen Rask, author of books, runner of Urban Craft Uprising, creator of School House Craft and general powerhouse. In a happy coincidence Schmancy launched a new website just yesterday, lookin’ good.
The package from Schmancy includes a zipper pouch and strawberry magnet hand made by Kristen herself and three collectible items from her shop: a Dunny 2010 Series from Kid Robot, one City Critters from Mindstyle (all designs are from Jim Henson’s sketchbook!) and a Droplets are from Crazy Label. Nice! To win please leave a comment with this entry and if you’d like answer this question: See that rainbow patch on the zipper pouch? It makes feel nostalgic. Have you ever collected patches as a kid? I’ll go first: I had a few patches from when I was a Brownie (which didn’t last all that long), and I used to go through my mom’s collection of patches because they were so colorful. You’ve got until Thursday, May 12th at 10am to enter, the fine print applies. Ok, good luck! Closed, thanks so much for entering!

My favorite patch that I will never be able to part with is a Happy Bunny patch. I have had if for nearly a decade and I am still looking for the perfect place for it where I will not change my mind. I love that sassy rabbit!

I didn’t collect patches, though I would collect sequins that I would find on the floor of department stores. :) I would love to win this cute prize!

I’m with the Brownie gang – those are the only patches that I remember from my youth. More recently, I found the trail patches for Rocky Mountain National Park and thought hiking and collecting those patches would be a kick.

I never had patches as a child, but I did find some “dirty” patches as a teenager. They were from the 70’s so they were more funny than inappropriate. Coincidentally I had three patches from a local non-profit that takes children’s artwork and turns them into patches. Just yesterday I backed them with magnetic sheets and three new magnets were born!

I had several patches as a kid, the most prized being my soccer patches. Mostly collected stickers and certainly had a few rainbows!

Now that I think of it, I had all kinds of patches — starting with Girl Scouts and going through high school band. None as pretty as that lovely little rainbow, though!

Oh this stuff looks great!! I’ve been nostalgic for rainbows recently and late 70s / early 80s colors.

I’ve never collected patches, but I do love that rainbow.

I loved patches. I had Brownie patches on my sash and I had a denim jacket with “cool” patches and a book bag with patches from family vacations. Yeah, I grew up in the 80s.

Best patches were definitely Girl Scouts, but I love me some Quirky patches for sewing over the holes in vintage quilts!

My older brother collected patches so I pretty much just pretended his collection was mine :)
I’ve heard about Schmancy and I can’t wait to check it out when I’m in Seattle this summer!

Is it 10am yet? I never collected patches, only stickers.

The best patch I had was a New Kids on the Block patch I wore on my blue jean jacket when I was 13ish.

Do 4-H and Girl Scout badges count? because if so, then yes!

Not so much patches as pins from my brother’s band and the bands he liked. Hero worship much? :)

I collected a few patches in high school (I never cared that much about earning badges in girl scouts), but mostly I was into embroidering my backpack. Not well, mind you, but I had a great time.
31 Shannon // May 12, 2011 at 7:46 am
I haven’t ever collected them, but I’ve always loved them! I used to want a backpack covered in them.

I did Girl Scouts, so my love of patches goes way back – but more importantly, I also fell in love with Rocky Horror Picture Show when I was in HS and was constantly putting RHPS patches on everything I owned.

I LOVED patches as a kid. i had several pairs of jeans that i would have my mom put patches on. i actually am on the search for the perfect patch right now for a jacket that got a hole in it from a beach bon fire!

I use to have a ton of patches. I was a rockin girl scout. :)
35 Kristin // May 12, 2011 at 9:01 am
I had some girl scout patches but my kids have patches from everywhere, for everything.
36 Faith // May 12, 2011 at 9:13 am
I love patches!
37 Leslie // May 12, 2011 at 10:03 am
I tore holes in my jeans so my mom would fix them with cool patches.
38 Kiri // May 12, 2011 at 10:15 am
I had brownies badges, and girl guide ones. I think I still have my gnome patch from brownies around somewhere actually.

No patches, but I still have my monstrous collection of keychains!
