I’ve done some needle felting, and it’s pretty easy. The hard part is the repetitive motion – all that stabbing gets hard on the arm!

I’ve never tried needle felting…I’ve only just started to sew. I’m afraid if I try, I might end up wrapped up in some horrible felt-needle mess. I did have an work friend who needle felted – is that the past tense verb? – she kept on bringing in oversized really strange stuff – brown flowers, large moss-like lumps of green. She was obsessed and it turned me off. I love the look of these though – I think you might have changed my mind!

Needle felting is awesome and I’ve even got my Dad addicted. He had some roving as a stocking filler and was thrilled! Ive only ever tried needle felting onto a background or polystyrene. Both of which are effective but these creatures crack me up. Love ‘em. If being in the UK doesn’t discount me I’d love a chance to win the little critters. :)

After a 3 month needle felting obsession (and wonderful stress relief) I’ve put my needles in their holsters for a year now. The best tip I have is to start off with a needle felt, get the piece to where it is almost done, then do the water/soap thing. If you are making something simple it finishes much faster!

I have briefly tried needle felting. My cousins took a half-day class in needle felting and became really proficient really fast. One needle felted an ambulance (for her sister who is an EMT).

I have not tried needle felting. I remember Martha Stewart once demonstrating a craft on her show where she had an needle felting tool that was several needles all together, like a more extreme floral frog sort of. It looked like fun.

Two Christmases ago I felted soaps for gifts – some were done regularly and some I tried to needle felt designs on… the regular ones were better :) I also tried needle felting animals inspired by http://www.laurenalane.com/… they came out ok, but I never seemed to be able to get the hang of it. I kept all my materials though to try again later.

I started wet-felting last fall and needlefelting a few months ago. I’m hooked!! Now I split my time between painting and wool sculpture and have a whole area of my studio dedicated to wool.

When I saw Moxie’s article on CNN, I just about flipped and have been following her ever since.

In an attempt to try needle felting, I got distracted, put it down, and my idea of creating a felted red apple is still sitting on a pile of “things I’d like to finish while my kids still might enjoy them”. The pile is slowly getting taller, I am embarrassed to say. However, the height of the pile won’t stop me from dreaming!
