Karin – I did get the fried egg and thing it was worth it. I was eating this as a late breakfast though so I was ravenous.

Did you spring for the fried egg on yours? A few of us from the office took a detour up there for lunch today (not Scott though, sadly), and I tried the fried chicken/gravy biscuit without the egg — wondering if it’s worth it to add the fried egg. :)

Megan, thanks a bunch! I haven’t been to SLU in awhile and so not since Douglas moved in. Might be a good outing for the little ones–hop on the streetcar, then go get some biscuits. Or vice versa.

Wow. I don’t eat meat or gravy (even the vegetarian kind), but I love bread and that biscuit (the top looks like a biscuit to me, but it is pretty late) looks good enough to marry!

WanderChow – I think so, I had never heard of the place but I know a SLU local, Maggi, who let me on the scoop. Dahlia Workshop is, essentially, the lobby of the Serious Pie/Wine store that is there. The Workshop has a counter and a collection of tables. I really liked it and in fact stayed there to meet my husband for lunch, and since SLU is mainly still for office workers I bet it wouldn’t be mobbed on the weekends yet (no promises!).
