We've got a stand alone MAC at the mall in King of Prussia, PA along with a counter in the Macys. I had no idea you could take in your empty containers. Thanks for the information.

I love their lipglass but it is sticky. Oddly enough I bought some Pro longwear lipcolor. I didn't like the lipcolor, but I love the gloss coat that comes with it. It's not sticky but it's pretty and glossy. However, it doesn't last as long on your lips as lipglass.

Courtney - The counters I talked to here in Seattle could only offer lipsticks, while the stores could also trade for lipglass and eyeshadows. I think it's different all over the place. Thanks for reporting in!

Hey there! I love MAC's recycling program! From what I understand the department store counters can trade you 6 "empties" for a lipgloss and at a MAC store you can trade 6 "empties" for an eye shadow. Just a heads up/ worth a shot at a free eye shadow!

Splatgirl - Then I will give you an apology in advance. Whenever I find something I like it is immediately discontinued :)

"Cultured" has been my go to MAC shade for at least 10 years. I've never found anything I like better. I'm always paranoid they're going to discontinue that shade.

I have long hair and it totally gets stuck in sticky glosses like Lip Glass. I'm still looking for an effective gloss that doesn't have this downside!

Kelsey - I get a very mild scent when I sniff the wand and it tastes a bit sweet when I first apply it but I don't notice it after that. It certainly isn't the overwhelming cake batter sweetness that lots of the lip glosses in Sephora seem to have.

Seanna Lea - Here in Seattle we have two stand alone MAC stores in malls, at least one attached to Nordstrom department stores which is actually outside the store itself, as well as MAC counters inside department stores. The stand alone stores have a wider range of trade in options than the counters.

I don't know if stand alone MAC stores are a West coast thing, I hadn't encountered one until we got to Seattle. Hang on, searching for stores in Boston turns up a few in the area but only one in Boston itself, on Newbury street. So, not a lot of stores around but they are near you!

The only MAC place I can think of is associated with a Macy's. Did you go to a stand alone store for this?
