I’m caught unprepared this year! Clearly I don’t deserve my Irish heritage. Please check out these excellent Saint Patrick’s Day stuff from other people — Shamrock Badges at Design*Sponge, Bog Tea at Make Grow Gather. (“So in honor of St Paddy’s Day, I suggest that you brew some good, strong Irish tea, carry it outside, and drink in the world.” Lovely!) Corned Beef and Cabbage (which thankfully starts with a package of corned beef) and Caraway Soda Bread, both from Simply Recipes. (All images used above are from their respective sites.)

If I hadn’t gone to the grocery store last night and seen the briskets on display I would have been up the creek myself! Instead, our little corned beef brisket is crocking away in the slow-cooker.
Haven’t made soda bread in an age! Thanks for the reminder!

I hate to say it, but that soda bread looks a tad like a dry brain. Anyone else seeing that? I’m sure it tastes fabulous, but something’s getting lost in the translation! : )

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Used to be one of my fave holidays as a kid because my fave color was/is green! I made Guinness Brownies to celebrate!
