Queen Bee handbag

While I was at Sock Summit I splurged on a handbag from Queen Bee. This is the Large Rita size in Hemp Denim with the Peony design. The closest I can find on their site is the samller size.

I was drawn to the flower design on front (after a spring full of looking at be-flowered dresses I cannot seem to shake the attraction) but it was the details that I fell for. It’s got everything I love:

  • large enough to hold a magazine
  • sturdy enough to stand on it’s own when plopped on the floor
  • zipper top (after my wallet was snatched I cannot do open top bags)
  • large loop zipper pull to reduce fumbling
  • two exterior pockets on the back for iPhone and keys
  • single short strap, long enough that it’s able to be hiked up over a shoulder using one arm
  • strap is removable so I can easily replace it with longer adjustable strap for those moments when I need it to hang across my body (Nordstrom Rack is usually the case)
  • not one but two interior pockets for makeupy things and my littlest camera, both are deep enough to reach the bottom of the bag, and the zippered one has the same large loop zipper pull
  • and most essential, a light colored interior so I can actually see what is down there

    I tried! It’s an overcast day here so all were blurry. I gave up in frustration (and because I’ve run out of time).

    I love my Queen Bee bag too. I have one of the older vinyl styles, but it works well as a cute diaper bag and wipes up easily from sticky hands. I love this new bag you got!

    I like the peony on the front. I have towels with a similar design.

    I LOVE Queen Bee!! I too have a little tiny bag from the older vinyl styles but I think I might have to splurge and get one of these. My Target bag is pale and mass produced by comparison!! Thanks for the overview!!

    Very cute! I love it. I love things made out of denim type fabrics. It makes for a very durable bag that will last forever :o)

    Love the bag! It looks like it will easily go with everything too, which is nice- I’m terrible at bag switching.

    i searched for the perfect wallet for the longest time and finally found one from Queen Bee. i will definately check out their other things, since i can’t resist handbags.

    I love their bags too. I visited their studio on my last trip to Portland and got one of their maximo wallets and couldn’t be more pleased.

    They are coming out with all new styles on September 1st, so I am planning on saving up for the smaller Rita.

    I love Queen Bee–I have 5 of their bags now and the older ones are still in great shape years later.

    My current favorite is their Hip Holster line–they’re the perfect size and so cute! (I have the silver one with the pink heart.)

    dawn – I love love love that it’s so small I can always keep it with me, but this particular one doesn’t take spectacular photos. We bought it in a last minute Need A Camera rush. I don’t regret getting it though.

    I got a Truckette from Queen Bee a little over 2 years ago. I have used and abused it to no end (it has made about a dozen international trips as well as an international move) and it still looks brand new. I cannot tell enough folks about how great this company is!

    I have one bag and one wallet from Queen Bee. I get so many compliments, and they hold up super well. My only complaint is that now I can’t say that I need new bags because the old one never wears out! lol I’m expecting and definitely looking forward to getting my diaper bag from them.
