Cocktail grapefruit, not to be confused with the Oroblanco. I’ve sought both and the cocktail grapefruit tastes like mild Mandarin orange while the Oroblanco tastes like pomelo. I still prefer regular grapefruit to either.

How to Freeze Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard. Collards and Other Greens. I did a whole huge batch of kale this way and it’s so very nice to be able to get prepped kale out of the freezer and dump it into a pan to heat up with a little garlic.

You have no idea how happy that news about Mother’s cookies makes me! I hope that the taffy sandwich cookies make the cut. I may have favored those even more than the Circus Animals…

I hardly ever ate Mother’s cookies, but whenever I saw the t-shirts that were made that said, “Lights down little cookies” I’d get all teary. I must be hormonal. (All the time.)

Thanks for the link on freezing the greens. I freeze spinach all the time but it never occurred to me to freeze kale. I have way more growing than I can possible eat right now-great timing!

i wonder if there’s an alternative packaging for freezing the greens? i love the idea of freezing my own, but i hate to think of throwing out all those bags or whatnot. (and i hate washing ziplocs for reuse.) the usual tupperware isn’t quite airtight enough for long-term freezing. anyone have a suggestion?

Oh man I’ve been craving those sugar wafers for months. I have a feeling those will go by the wayside, but a girl can dream.
