Above is a picture of the disastrously oozy (but very good with champagne) strawberries and whipped cream cake I improvised for the evening. I hope your evening is as joyously cozy or wildly strange or happily drunken or adventurously lost as you wish it to be!

oozy or not, it’s hard to go wrong with strawberries, cake and whipped cream, or strawberries and champagne! sounds delicious :)
oh, this caramel recipe was posted by a friend of mine, and I thought you might like to try it. It’s incredibly easy, and not at all intimidating candy making. I made it this Christmas, but with even more cardamom.

First off, happy new year!
A while back you posted a link to a ‘meat cake’ and I convinced my mom to make it today, while visiting her!
Didn’t turn out as perfect as the one you linked to, but I added some asparagus for the candles, and used layers of ground chicken, ground beef, and ground turkey. It came out delicious. Thanks for linking to it!!
Here are the pictures:

That messy cake looks absolutely delish, as well as kind of messy chic, as well. ;)

Your cake reminds me of Alice in Wonderland! It might inspire me to make one of my own this afternoon!

Hey, that looks just like the traditional “Christmas cake” eaten in Japan on Christmas Eve — my favorite cake ever, incidentally. Yum!
