frozen grapes and cold beer for dinner

It's been awfully hot here and we're all moving a bit slow including, it seems, my site. Unexplainable technical difficulties have been plaguing me since last week so I'm in the midst of packing it all up and moving it to a new home. The site might blip away for a while, but don't worry, I'll return.

In the mean time I've been watching happily as my newly planted lavender blooms enough to let me cut a little bit this year. But only at night when it's cooled down a bit. Man.

  2. Not that I'm glad you're having problems with your site, but I was really missing it and hoping all was OK.

  3. My lavender, which i amost pulled up last year for failure to thrive, is AMAZING. It makes me teary eyed to see how beautiful it is.

    Next year...LAVENDER WANDS!

  4. I was wondering if it was all in my head about the site being slow.

I'm still (not so patiently) waiting for the one thing I planted (a bit late) this year to grow, although green onions aren't nearly as delightful as lavender!

  5. I'm jealous of your lavender. It won't grow for me in Houston. Too muggy, I presume.

Also good for cooling off: dipping lime popsicles in gin.

  6. I'm all for frozen drinks. I was also happy to see clouds for this morning! It'll burn off soon, but man, made sleeping lovely last night.

  8. We've got a lovely area of lavender out at the base of the driveway. Turns out the bees like it a lot, too. (grumble)

  9. After three years my lavender started to grow like gangbusters! I just cut it and have it drying in my craft room. The whole room smells like lavender, hmm...
