sipping:
GUS Soda
It stands for Grown-up Soda, which isn’t too sweet, and I like it. Right now I have the grapefruit but I’m curious to taste the other flavors.
watching:
Meerkat Manor
I’m late to this show, but I was hooked after ten seconds. I couldn’t place the narrator’s voice at first, it’s Sean Astin.
loving:
Kerrygold butter
After using to make Irish Soda Bread I cannot go back to normal sticks of butter.
being amused by:
Garmin Nuvi
We were given this as a gift and I love watching it recalculate as we drive home the way we know is easiest, even if it’s not the most direct. Sadly, we have yet to get to use it when we’re headed someplace we don’t know how to get to already.
disliking:
Tanqueray Rangpur gin
It’s a flavored gin that I find far too sweet, yuck. Read tasting notes at Slashfood.

I’ve recently become addicted to dry soda http://www.drysoda.com/ the lavender soda is my favorite.
and irish butter – yum! nothing else is quite the same, but we made butter at home when I was a kid, and that beat even the irish butter

Have you had the Kerrygold with herbs?
I love their butter, not to mention their aged cheddar…

If you like Kerrygold, you should try Lurpak. It’s amazing!

You must have not caught up to the current season of Meerkat Manor…they replaced Sean Astin with another narrator :-(
It’s a woman with a voice I recognize, who does a lot of narration work, in a really cold and fake way. I HATE IT.

Where do you buy the butter? Their website does not say. Sounds delicious.

N – I have not tried Kerrygold with herbs, but I must, thanks.
Elizabeth – Thank you. I’ll keep an eye out for it, one of the fancy markets in my area is sure to carry it.
Min – Oh no! I think we have only seen season one episodes so far. I’m sad to hear the narrator isn’t as good. This is the reason we gave up on Planet Earth shown here in the US, we waited for the DVDs with narration by David Attenborough, who we hear makes a huge difference. Ok, the new narrator on season two is Stockard Channing, who played the first lady on The West Wing.

Jean – I actually found it at a Fred Meyer store here, though it was found in the deli case where they keep the “fancy” cheeses. I’m also able to find Kerrygold at my local natural market (it’s like a small version of Whole Foods).

I think the GUS soda sounds great- I love carbonated beverages, but find most sodas too sweet. Grapefruit- yum!

The new season of Meerkat Manor is narrated by Stockard Channing. My daughter and I really like her as an actress, though I enjoyed listening to Sean Astin! We’ve been huge Meerkat fans since they first started the show.

KERYGOLD! That stuff rocks! I discovered it when I was living in the UK and was so excited to find it at Wegmans here. I haven’t tried the herb variety yet, but I should.

Kerrygold – yes, it’s actually available in too many stores near me! I love the stuff and have limited myself to eating it only when I am in Ireland – which is about three times a year…so it’s a real treat for me!

I just got back from a trip where we used a Garmin Nuvi. We had a female voice at first who sounded really annoyed when she was “recalculating”. So we switched to the British lady who was less crabby every time we stopped off at a rest stop and left the road. Have fun with it!

Great googly moogly — after seeing one comment here, I searched the Wegmans site, and they have both the butter and GUS. I shall have to trek on over there. Its *nice* to have a ‘big city’ food store around here, finally….

I had some GUS cola at a conference a couple months back and loved it. Other people with me found it undrinkable, but they were expecting a normal coke/pepsi taste. I’ve always wanted to make a cola beverage with half the sugar (or even less), and it tasted pretty much exactly like I figured it would (not watered down, but not super sweet).

The Meerkat Manor we see – probably coming out of the UK – has Bill Nighy narrating who does a MARVELOUS job!

We recently got GUS ginger ale and was rather disappointed. It was watery. I don’t mind less sweet in fact I’ve been searching for a ginger ale with more bite than sweet for making high balls with. But this was really more like ginger flavored seltzer. And thus much prefer the cost and flavor of Polar seltzer especially the grapefruit one.

I tried the valencia GUS and it tasted fine, but I much prefer aranciata pellegrino or dry soda kumquat.

I’ve still never watched the Meerkats, but I loved the ads they were running around the time of the Sopranos series finale.
Have to remember to record it so I can ogle their adorable faces.
