i just recently painted my bedroom and dove grey, and basically the accent colour in my furnishings is shades of yellow.

What color are the walls and carpeting? That plays a big factor since just about any color goes with gray. I would take the opportunity to choose some prints though. Personally, I love a pale, pale lavender with deep gray.

Oh, I didn't specify: the dining room wall is not seen from the room where the futon is, so there is no need to coordinate with the orange wall. But, the house is small so I didn't want to have too much orange.

I'm thinking a lime green would be a nice contrast with the orange wall and would perk up the grey sofa a little. The shades of grey pillows just seem a little dull to me when you look at that fantastic orange wall.

Sadly, I am also more likely to eat vitamins in Gummi Bear form. I have one that's a multivitamin, and one that's calcium.

First of all, I think from all the comments you must have picked up that no one is going for the gray pillows on gray futon [hey! I used to have a gray flannel sheet on my futon couch too]. Pillows are a great and inexpensive way to see what colors you'd like for the rest of the room. Have you seen yarnplay at home? She made a throw in dark gray and dark purple and it looked fab. So if you don't want pillows that pop so much maybe you could do a rich jeweltone like that. And I love the pillow slipcovers made from napkins idea!

i would go with white or off-white pillows that had multi-colored embroidery or patterns on them that included grey but also other colors, so you have options when u try coordinating other things in the room with them.

I considered orange but our dining room wall is orange, as are our kitchen gadgets, so I think I need a new colors.

I might go with the aqua Laura suggested above.

We have a couch that looks dark gray in some lights and dark chocolate in others and I have been looking for throw pillows for it for ages. I have to force myself away from the yellow/orange/coral combinations that I am drawn to because then my whole living room looks like the seventies.
I love the pillows from Anthropologie but I can't bring myself to spend $100 on a pillow...I was thinking of trying to make this:

There are some that might work at CB 2 though, thanks for the link. And you never know, sometimes Target has nice pillows.
