[...] 11 June 2008 in Instant Lust My brothers and I (but mainly I) got this Eton FR300 Emergency Hand Crank Radio for my dad. I’d seen reviews for it online previously and thought it was very cool. I actually bought it at Sharper Image (never thought I’d buy anything there) because it was there, and on sale cheaper than anywhere online. The one thing I was concerned with was how the crank would work — if it was unnecessarily hard to turn, but it was surprisingly easy. Then I was skeptical when the radiolife/crank ratio wasn’t on the box, but when I called my brother he said that 90 seconds of turning should give the radio 1.5 hrs of play time. Another cool thing is that it can tune into TV audio. But the best part was my brother told me that the radio my dad had been using (when he goes fishing and random outdoor activities) is actually broken. It has ports for cell phone chargers, but the weird thing is that we have to get the cell phone adaptors from the manufacturers directly. It has an AC port too, but that has to be bought separately. Slightly off-putting, but I hope my dad likes it. The orange screams just emergency, doesn’t it? It was the only color. When I was looking for a picture to post up, I saw the red one and was really in love with it. But I don’t think I’d have gotten red for my dad …. Search for: [...]
