i’ve played with picnik and think it’s great.
also, one thing i’d add to the top 10 list (number 11) — if you’re buying a camera — if you can afford it, get a camera with manual, aperture and shutter priorty settings. a lot of pocket digitals have them.

When I lived in FL and Hurricane Wilma hit I happened to have a wind-up radio with a cell phone charger. It SAVED my sanity. Never mind my cell was out for close to a month due to limited/no service in our area.
We had no electricity for 10 days anywhere near us and the radio was a freaking lifesaver.

That Stranger article made me hide in the crawlspace, Megan. N95 masks and franks n’ beans instead of treat bags at my next birthday party. DAMN. No, it was a chilling, informative read and I am going to order that flashlight too. And then go get back in the crawlspace.
