Evany rightfully points out that she created a belly warmer (like the one I linked to yesterday) four years ago. And how did I fail to remember that even though I posted about it way back in 2003? Easy, I’ve perfected the art of putting stuff up on my website without thinking about it all that hard. Evany, I am sorry!
forgive me

I totally remember your post about her back in ’03!! That’s how I found out about Evany.
I thought it was a neat idea back then too.

Oh no! Don’t be sorry! Stop! Wait! I posted my INDIGNANT RANT (which was supposed to be light-hearted? because who could possibly lay claim to inventing a piece of teeshirt?) BEFORE I saw the link you posted to the Belly Warmer yesterday! And I outfitted my RANT with that link to your original, 2003 post about my Go Between because your post was the only reference I had that had an actual date attached to it! But boy, I sure did come off sounding like an angry, angry person, didn’t I? Dumb old temporally challenged internet! (I swear I’m not angry! I swear!)

Evany – I only ever thought you were being funny! So do not worry that anybody read it the wront way. I agreed with you back then that the Go Between was an excellent idea as I’d been sitting down at restaurants and wrapping my scarf around my waist since the little spot between my shirt and jeans would get awfully cold.
Have you seen the Bella Band? It’s basically the same thing for pregnant women so they can hide unbuttoned jeans (brilliant!) and/or hide those ugly maternity panels in clothing.

Oh boy, the Bella Band! They clearly need to expand their horizons to include the not-knocked-up among us…”Bella Band: Not just for pregnant ladies anymore.”
XXX!!!

You can feel good about this in the long run, Evany. I am really excited about trying to make some haramaki, but it would have taken me weeks more to think of the “use the bottom of a stained shirt” trick. I’ve got an ideal canditate at home in the “to remake” bin. Thanks!

Evany, I remembered!

Whoa, what a rant, but of course Evany was joking. Belly warmers aren’t all that new… the Japanese have been making them for hundreds of years. The specific designer ones Megan linked to have been around since Winter 2001. Look here and scroll down. (Check out the Summer (å¤) 2005 series, the dragon one rocks!!!)
But I have to say, Evany totally deserves dibs on creating the first ever English tut. Hooray! (Site bookmarked to watch for future madness…)

I’ve been thinking for ages that I want to make a fleece under-bust style corset to keep that area cozy. It would essentially be like the tshirt one but a bit wider. My bf makes fun of the idea, but clearly it’s not so loopy!
