I was sad to read on Girl Hacker that the button man passed away. I only visited the shop, Exclusive Buttons in El Cerrito, once and it was tiny but amazing, just stuffed full of buttons. Ever since any other button collection just hasn’t been impressive. I bought some gorgeous shell buttons in the shop which I still have. Vincent and his wife Mary were so very nice to me, it’s a fond memory.

Oh, my goodness. I lived in El Cerrito from the age of 8 until college, and my parents still live there, I go there once a year at least, and have never. seen. this. store. I hope it’s still there and open when I next visit. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, so sorry it had to be for such a sad reason, though.
