Something we learned earlier this summer — you cannot use chemical starter soaked charcoal, like say Matchlight, in a chimney starter. If you do this because your girlfriend didn’t specify and you are, you know, not really thinking very hard*, you’ll get flames shooting eight feet straight up, perilously close to the edge of the roof. This is especially panic inducing if you are set up on your upper story all wood deck. And if your grill is the itty bitty tabletop sized kind, the only thing between the wooden deck and eight feet of blue hot flames. So now you know.
* To his defense I don’t know much about grilling and didn’t know charcoal could come presoaked in extremely flammable liquids.
