Has anyone been able to find the Everyday Food magazine? It doesn't seem to be in any of the grocery stores or anywhere else out here. [I'll be absent for the next two days, family is in town and I'm showing off the city.]

I endlessly search for jeans which fit my short, not thin frame. It's hard, Gap jeans fit me as though I should be a guy, everyone else assumes I have super long and thin thighs (who gets to pick the fit model anyway?) and while I'm a fan of the lower waist, I like being able to sit in a chair and not worry if I'm flashing anyone. So far, the Nouveau fit Levi's are my new favorite, the Bootcut and Straight Leg even come in nice dark washes.

Hugo come through is surgery! Yay! Unfortunately, it was more expensive than Anna anticipated -- in a completely unrelated note you can still donate if you wish. $30 or more will get you a precious hand made sock dog - I can't think of a better incentive.

I have been tinkering around with knitting, learning increases and decreases, and I have successfully ripped out a row or two a few times, got it back on a needle and kept going. This was on small pieces only, but I'm glad to finally feel like I don't have to start all the way over if I make a mistake. I have been using The Knitter's Companion to learn new stitches, not the best way to learn considering it's more of a reference than a teaching tool. I am disappointed by the inconsistency of illustrations. In the sections on increases they show the stitch in progress, and how it will look when done -- in the section on decreases they have no pictures of what the final stitch will look like. I suppose I should stop whining and buy a bigger book.

Does anyone know of a good shoe glue? I have a pair of mules I bought a while ago from a discount place, the first time I wore them the inside of the soles started pulling out from the front of the toe - making it incredibly uncomfortable to walk in. I put them in the closet and ignored them until now. The insides are just thin faux leather. I'm too cranky about it to do any serious researching, so I'm going to ask you guys first. Anyone?

I bought some Charles Shaw wine at Trader Joe's to test out the phenomena. As a lover of a certain $5 merlot which I cannot seem to find around here, I am curious as to how I will like this.
